XY won't zero out

Trying to set up a new workpiece ever time I try to zero out xy it gives me a error.  It reads as follow: There is in the machine coordinates states can't set workpiece orignal. Please switch to the workpiece state. How do I switch to workpiece state?

Thank you Gerry that fixed the problem. I can get back to cutting out lithophanes again.
