Hi all. I apologize if this has been posted already, but I recently got my second machine (my first, which I got about 16 months ago, is a AR4Pro+, which I still have, and I am using it as a secondary machine (rotary axis, digital joints using Tailmaker software, diamond drag work, etc)) which is a AR8Pro+. One difference that I noticed with the controller is that it does a "3....2.....1...." countdown before the spindle powers up (a nice safety feature), and my AR4Pro doesn't do this.
I'm guessing it is a fairly recent firmware update, but I don't recall seeing anything about it, and I'm curious if there were any other changes that would merit updating the firmware on my older machine (the AR4Pro). I am hesitant to do it for a minor update, since I believe firmly in Murphy's Law and I'm concerned that I might "brick" my controller for no real gain (the countdown is nice, but I have lived without it for the past 16 months, so......).
Thanks for any info,
Allan

Allan, all the controllers do a 4 second countdown for the spindle...if you older controller is not doing this, its most likely due to the feature being turned off at one point.
This is an easy fix, just select the MENU>Machine Setup>Spindle Setup>Spindle Delay....
This OnDelay should be set to 4000 micro seconds. (really milliseconds..*bad chinese translation)
