Good morning guys and gals,
I have a plaque that I have designed in VCarve of an Eye Chart that I want to cut for my daughters upcoming graduation in May. I have found some white delrin that I would like to cut it out of. I have no experience in cutting delrin and am interested in getting any tips or tricks from any of you more experienced CNCers. I guess one of my biggest concerns is feeds and speeds and will it just melt or give a clean edge?
Any help is greatly appreciated.

If Fean were still around, he could probably tell you exactly what to use. I haven't cut any, but I know it machines pretty good, because our machine shop at work makes stuff out of delrin all the time. It seems to be harder than UHMW, so it should make good chips instead of melt. I found this website after a quick search, and saw other posts that reflect similar speeds/feeds. www.boedeker.com/Technical-Resources/Technical-Library/Plastic-Machining-GuidelinesGood luck with it and let us know how it turned out.

Speaking of Fean (and not being around). What did we do to run him off? I noted a while back that he'd deleted his account. Did he say something on the "way out the door"?
