Now that you have had time to play with the basic functions of your A11 controller, you might like to learn more about the advanced features of your controller. There are a few features that can really make things easier for your everyday use.
For instance, most of us have at one time or another forgotten our USB. To make things simple, you can copy files directly to the controller from your USB. Once a file has been copied to the internal memory, the USB is not required to run that program.
Copy Files:
To copy files directly to the controller, lessening the requirement for the USB for frequent jobs. Go to MENU, then FILE OPERATION.
Here you can choose to COPY, DELETE and VIEW.
Select COPY, Then Select the source to Copy from, i.e. USB (U DISC)
This will copy the file(s) you select from your USB to the internal memory within your controller.
To DELETE files from the controller only, select DELETE, Then Select the file(s) to be deleted.
Scrolling:
When large numbers of files are stored either on USB or internally, finding your file may take a longer than realized.
Using the X+ and X- buttons, you can only move one line item at a time.
To speed things up, use Y+ and Y- to scroll one page at a time.
Operation Times:
When performing a job, the bottom line of the screen will scroll different data every few seconds. It shows your operation time in hours, minutes and seconds.
If your checked your job times in the software, remember that those times are estimated based on your set maximum feed rate. They won’t necessarily match up if your machine is running at a different speed, but they are good estimates.
Adjusting your Feed Rate
You may have noticed that when you select a job to begin, there is a screen displayed with speeds listed. At the bottom of that list is the Speed Scale.
This relates to the percentage of max feed rate from your software. So if you have designed you tool-path with a 200 inch per minute feed rate, you'd multiply that by the Speed Scale. A good rule to follow would be to set your Speed Scale at about 50% or 0.5 to start the job.
To adjust (Increase or Decrease) Feed Rate while performing the job:
Y+ (Increase) by 0.1 or 10% increments
Y- (Decrease) by 0.1 or 10% increments
*You cannot exceed the max feed rate setup in your tool-path from the software.
Please share with us any of the features you have found that have made things easier for you.
