The machined should be homed every time it is started.

I had a similar problem. It would hang in a certain spot every time. So i put it in that spot and loosened the ball nut on the x axis. Ran the x back and forth 1 time and stopped it on the bad spot again. Then re tightened the 4 screws on the ball nut and everything was fine after that. Oh, and make sure you clean and oil your rails and ball screw.
