HELP...
I have a project I promised to get out in a week!
I went to run a project and when I started it up(haven't used the machine for about a month) it would not zero out? Y and z are working but not X. All worked last time I used the machine? I can manually move it. I can't believe to motor went just like that. This is a AR6 pro.

I had the same problem on my X axis awhile back! I took the side cover off and the wire connector to the stepper motor was just hanging there. I plugged it back in, but it stayed loose, so I just wrapped some electrical tape to keep the plug in place. It has never caused me a problem since!
Take the side cover off and try running the machine to see if the connector isn't causing you the problem. If it keeps falling off, try a zip tie or something else to keep a good connection.

tried it no luck I thought I read that if the step motors have power that you should not be able to manually move them. I can?

If you have the machine turned on and can turn the stepper motor, then there is no power to that motor or it'e bad! When I got my machine, I took the cover of the machine case and made sure all the wires were tight. But that was when I first got the machine. The connector to the X axis stepper motor happened about 6 months after I had the machine up and running.

You said in your original post that " it would not zero out". I assumed that your were saying that it moved but would not stop at the limit switch. Michael

Michael yes that was the case 8 months ago. now it will not move from the controller or 0 out? I have 23.8 volts from the black and green wire. same as the others however "Z" had 23.8 on the white also? Trying to search what each wire should have when pressing the controller buttons.

A simple test within the white control box can help identify whether or not the issue lies with with DSP side of things or farther up the line of communication.
If you open the control box, you will find that the handheld plugs directly into the DSP control board. On that board there are green terminals for each axis.
Those terminals are simply plugs that can be wiggled and pulled free.
It is best to pull the X free and inspect the 5 wires going to that plug. I’d go ahead and loosen those clamps, then reseat the wires being sure that the clamps re tightened on the wires themselves and not the insulation.
Re insert and test for proper movement.
*Wire movement, to things loosening over time may create a communication issue*
If the problem persists…then swap that X plug for the Y plug.
Then the X button of you controller should move the Y axis, and the Y will move the X…. (Do not attempt to HOME during this test.)
This test lets us know if the known good connection for the Y axis moves the X drive…which will indicate that the everything north of or farther along in the communication line from the DSP is good for the X.
Where if the X button fails to move the Y axis…then we would determine that the DSP board is bad.
