I've done a few projects with my AR8 Pro but this was one of the most complex so far. I'm looking for feedback on if there is any way to smooth curves imported from a Sketchup file, I have VCarve Pro but it seemed to create steps instead of the curve as you can see on the close up picture. Any other feedback would be helpful also! ![]() |

Looks awesome, in node editing you can right click a point and select smooth and it will blend the 2 segments into a curve in 2d but I think it will take aspire to do anything like that on 3d

Did you import a stl or did you import a dxf or ?

Are the cribbage board "holes" what you want to be smoothed?

I imported it as an STL file, the holes turned out fine (they were just drilled holes using the drilling toolpath) it is the curvature of the STL 3D model that had some steps in portions that should have been a curve.

Under the 'MODEL' option there is 'Smooth Selected Components'. It smooths the surface of the model.

I've found that Fusion360 CAM sometimes has a hard time with imported geometry. Additionally, STL files and the like usually use flat geometry to approximate the shape and you may be able to adjust some export options to increase the shape resolution that might help.
It may also eliminate that issue all together if you draw it natively in Fusion360 instead of importing it.

As an X-bubblehead .. I like it? Is the STL available for download or maybe the CRV file? I'd like to do one with a boomer missle deck.

Thanks I pulled the STL off of Thingverse. Unfortunately I still haven't found a boomer and LA class that will import well into Vcarve, modelling one myself will probably be the best option. |
