After dropping the puck a few times, I decided it needed a permanent home.
This was designed to be cut in the router, but I couldn't get around the software, whether the limitations are with me or the software I'm not sure.
I ended up 3D printing it - worked well, and cost me about $2 in material.
All in all, it works well, and I haven't dropped it again since.

And if you have any ideas of cutting this using VCarve Pro, let me know. I think it would take a 3D package to do it.

How long did it take to print the holder?

How long did it take to print the holder? I let it print overnight, but I’d guess 2-3 hours.

You could easily do that in Vcarve pro. Just import the STL file and do a 2 sided operation and the most you would have to do is drill the mounting holes as a separate step. I modeled a fake Iphone in fusion and imported it to vcarve and cut it out really easy.

You can cut the whole thing from the top side and use the mold profile to cut out the curve easily. Then you can drill the horizontal holes by hand or with a secondary path after rotating the part and mounting it on its side.

Thank you for the idea. I brought your pic to my 3D printing and design department, (my freshman son's bedroom). After dinner he handed me this. Could you imagine having that capability in your room 40 years ago?

Well, for those of us that don't have access to a 3D printer, maybe you guys can sell them to us.

I copied the idea from the OP. But if he doesn't feel like making more, my son would be all over it. $5 ? But let the OP ring in first.

Have at it.... I don’t need more projects, I need more time to complete the projects I have. I would suggest using the existing holes and a couple 3mmx 20mm screws.
