Couple of questions.... 1) how can I get a manual? It took me a while to figure out the tool length setting. 2) is there an option for a laser crosshair for the spindle center? This would help a lot. 3) can you control the spindle speed in the program? Thanks for any and all help!

From what I understand, there are two controllers. The older one is a RichAuto A11. You can google it and come up with a manual. There is no factory option for a laser crosshair. For setting my XY -> 0, if it has to be exact, I use a v-bit in the spindle. No, you control the spindle speed manually via a little knob on the variable frequency drive. The numbers go up to 400. You probably want to start around the 250 range for a 1/4" end mill and play with it from there. If the wood is burning, or you notice your bits have turned dark, your spindle speed is too fast.
You bought an awesome machine. I hope you get as much enjoyment out of it as I have mine.

Manuals can be found online, or Chad will most likely email you one. The frequency setting on the front of the machine controls the speed. Multiply the number x60 for actual rpms... 250x60 = 15,000 rpms. I also use a v bit to get an exact zero.

Thanks for the insights. I used a v-bit yesterday, worked ok. Just looking to save time in the future. I'm thinking I'll machine the spoil board with an edge/rib left along the front and left side to create a zero point for quick reference.
I am loving it so far. It didn't include any software, so I bought Vcarve Pro, and I'm learning how much I still have to learn.
It did include the stand and toolbox, and that is worth a lot. The entire unit is very well thought out and built like a tank. I've got 25 years in machinery manufacturing, and I am impressed. Nice job, Axiom.
