Hi all...
Ric here...long time woodworker and new owner of a 48" Axiom 8 Pro+ w/ Laser and 4th axis (in route now...should be here Tuesday ;-)...
Retired after 40+ years as a Commercial Photographer/Producer and figured I'd scratch my long time itch for a CNC addition to my shop...
Just moved to Port Orchard, WA across the sound from Seattle...Looking forward to learning and playing with some of the ideas I've been seeing here...
Would be interested in meeting, learning from and swapping info with any other Axiom/Vetric users in the PacNW...

Ric: Welcome to the Axiom Forum. You're a few miles from me. Make sure you get listed on the Vectric site and that you get on the map there. I'm not sure whether you request to be listed or they just list you. I seem to recall that they updated it periodically. I got my Axiom 8 from a local dealer and it doesn't include the extras you mentioned. I know I can add laser but not sure about the 4th axis. Just had a contractor indicating that he needed someone to turn a lot of spindles for him. So, the 4th axis would be handy.

Thanks SavannaDan...I went factory direct to save on sales taxes...(that paid for some of the extra goodies ;-)
as I understand the rotary/4th axis will only work with the "plus" versions...Unfortunately that part of the order is still "a few weeks" out on backorder...sure I'll have plenty to keep me busy in the meantime.
Thanks for the tip on the Vectric map...Just discovered that forum and can see a lot of time being spent there.

You'll want to start watching the tutorial videos Vectric has. As 1 Vectric user said, "You need 2 monitors - one for the video and one to work in VCP/Aspire." Also, you can download those and that way you have them even when you don't have internet access. With the downloads of those you also get the benefit of the files to run the projects. There are a lot of free projects offered by Vectric and by Vectric users. Good luck and enjoy.
