I purchased the Aspire software when I purchased my Axiom system. To use the software do I need to purchase and additional computer and attach it to the Electric Cabinet? If not, how do I get a program to the CNC?

nestor: Aspire and V-Carve is a cad/cam software package. You create your projects with the Cad portion of the software and then you create your tool path's in the cam section. Once you have done that and have saved everything, you then copy the tool path's to a usb stick and then plug it into the control pendant. The pendant is connected to the Axiom control box and that is how the system works. I suggest you go to the Vectric web site and go thru the tutorials on how to get started. They are all quite good and will get you going quickly.

I would HIGHLY suggest you sign up for the level 1training AXIOM is offering in Feb, it will greatly flatten your learning curve.

I'll echo the suggestions on viewing the videos and attending the Axiom training. Aspire can be installed on up to 3 computers. I have found that I like having a small computer with me at the CNC to see what I am cutting in the Aspire program. Also, I place my projects in individual file folders on my computer and use the USB stick for the individual tool paths. That way I can re-format the USB stick when I'm finished with cutting that project but I still have the files for later use if needed. BTW, you can download the training videos for later viewing and you also have the files for the projects they present in the videos. I'd also recommend you check the map of Vectric users and see if there is anyone in your area that you can contact and see if they will share how they do things. Lastly, as you can tell if you ask the question folks will readily give you a response/answers. both here and on the Vectric forum.

I always make a Job sheet to help me use the right bits and do everything in order and have the right work zero point.

I used to use job sheets, but mostly not now. All of my toolpaths start with a abbreviation of the bit I need and I place them in order on my USB drive as needed.
