Hey Guys,
I recently purchased the Axiom AR8 Pro. Im pretty new to the CNC world and have been trying to figure a few things out that maybe you can all help me with.
I'm using VCarve Pro. I understand the Spindle speed needs to be set on the machine. No problem.
But for some reason, the machine ignores my feed rate. It seems no matter whatI set the feed rate to, 5 IPM or 200 IPM. It consistantly runs at the same speed. I can't find out how to get this to work.
The manual is to be honest is a little weak. But otherwise a solid and impressive little machine. Can anyone help?
Thanks, Kirk

I think someone else had this problem. I think there is a setting in the pendant. Call Chad.

Where are you changing your feed rate? It took me a little while to figure out that I had to change the feed rate of the individual tool in the tool database. When you hover your cursor over a toolpath you've created, you can see how long Vectric estimates it will take to cut that tool path. When you change the feed rate of the tool in the database and recalculate the tool path, that time should change. Note, that time might not be accurate for the machine down to the minute, but it will still give you an indication that the tool path calculated a different feed rate.

Just want to post the solution so that if anyone runs into this, they have the answer. Support has been awesome with helping me fix this very quickly. Here is the response that worked for me from support: "There is a set of parameters in the controller that determines how a controller performs gcode operations. Within that set is an F Read setting that allows either for metric feed rates to come from controller settings or the gcode. (Either inch or mm can be used within VCarve.) Your controller is most likely set to ignore this portion of the gcode. To change this.... from the main coordinate screen, press MENU. Then scroll down and select AUTO PRO SETUP. Scroll down to find and select the GCODE SETUP. The first item here is F READ, which I️ assume is set to IGN F. Highlight this and press the DELETE button. You should then be able to select the READ F option. The controller will then read the f code within the gcode files and perform at the designated speeds. When finished just use the STOP/CANCEL button to go back one screen at a time until you return to the main coordinate screen. We hope this helps." It was just a setting Kirk

It isn't that I'm all that smart, it's that the bar is just really low on this planet.
