My son is getting married next month. He wanted to give wooden gift boxes (with a few items in them) as gifts to his groomsmen. I decided to learn how to lay out different profiles for the moulding toolpath to make the side profiles for different boxes. Designed the layout to allow two-sided work pieces, and completely tool four sides ready for a 45 deg mitered box assembly. Turns out the moulding toolpath is quite easy to use, and once you comprehend the rail in the layout, the design is mastered in one drawing, and it only takes swapping out the profile element to change the entire box side profile. I designed the master file to be a 7" x 9" box, about 3 1/4" deep. I have a masculine and a feminine profile.
I can ultimately layout 12 side pieces, or 3 boxes, on one table on the AR8. Still have to design and make the lids. These are going to have slip-tops vs hinged lids, but either will work.
BTW... the photos of the stained side pieces are just set together. They haven't been assembled/glued/clamped yet. The miters pull in pretty nicely with a band/strap clamp.

I love that new moulding toolpath that Vetric added to their software.

Those look really good. How have you planed to support the mitered corners?
