Excalibur with a Star Wars twist

EXCALIBUR! Kid says, "I need a sword". In my day that was a 1x2 maybe with some paint. Well, this is specific: Excalibur of Arthurian legend, properly scaled with a twist. What's that? uh, Star Wars twist. Ok: Off to the CNC software. Do the homework, trace the images (including the Ancient Elvish - says the others call it 'fairy'. In MY day there were Elves, Orcs and Men), figure out HOW this will go together with 40W of LED's and 8 AA's. Structurally how will it hold together? two 37" long 1/4" frosted plastic pieces, a blade guard and hilt. MULTIPLE prototypes, a few missteps in painting. Electrical actually went great. I can see it next month: Stormbringer?

Handle is a two-sided carve with a 3/4" copper pipe down the middle for electrics, blade guard holds 8 AA batteries. Figured for flying it should fit in a gun case - probably not good in the terminal!

This is great, Creative and challenging. Nicely done!

And most definitely bring Stormbringer out. Dang ya hit a deep chord with that one!
