Hello all, I have an AR8+ with Rotary, which I purchased October 20th 2018. Love it , works perfectly and use it frequently for hobby and fun stuff. Last Sunday (Oct 8th 2023), I was cutting a large board (3'x2'x1.5") when I noticed a tiny 4mm set screw (see pictures) on the board which was not there before. I suspect it fell from the gantry or Z-axis. I have looked everywhere I can't think of where it may have worked loose and fell onto the work piece. I have added pictures of the set screw. Can anyone suggest where it may have come from? The machine still works fine and I could just continue until something shows signs of misalignment or other issues, but I hate loose ends. I have checked the Ball Screw fitting on Z and X axis. Also the greasing nipples. Took the motor mounts off and the Z-axis cap to check couplings. Still a mystery. It is of course possible it fell from somewhere else, stuck to my sleeve or perhaps stuck to a magnetic screw driver and just fell while I coincidentally was using the AR8. I can not imagine that there are that many set screws on an AR8. I have looked through the documentation and manual images of the construction. I have searched this forum without luck. Not holding my breath, but any suggestions would be very much appreciated. Regards, Neil

On the ProV5 there are four sets of set screws like that on the Z-axis linear bearing that rides up and down the rails. Each pair of screws sit adjacent to the rail. I don't know what they do, but they are between the thin plastic fascia that sits above and below the metal linear bearing.

Thanks grossmsj for the reply and time to take that picture. Yes, I have those too and they are all still in place. I believe they hold that black plate on. Added picture to show they are both still there. Neil Attachments:

Only place I could think of are the couplers and I think you said you checked those.
