 ![]() This is a double-sided mill job. One side is milled completely, flipped over and milled again on the back to make a finished part that will be used for mold making and castings. This is the first of three finish passes using a 1/4" spiral ball bit. the rough was using a cheapo 1/2" router bit. Attachment Deleted I use MADcam a CAM plugin for Rhino. It has quite detailed settings for complex geometries like this. If you choose to use MAD cam, beware it is an advanced software and there is a learning curve. MADcam did make a custom post processor file with my help especially for the Axiom machine! |

We have had a number of customers request information about using MADcam, its very good to know that you were able to help create a post processor. Would you be willing to post a copy of your post on the forum? I'm sure there are many people who would like to know about it.

If anyone was to download the most recent version of MAD_Cam, they have already included AXIOM in their default list of Post Processors.  madcamcnc.com/download/Keep in mind MAD_Cam is a plugin inside the Rhino3d modeling program, so I would only advise its use for more advanced or adventurous users. (big learning curve, but a lot of power) Both Rhino5 and MAD_Cam have a 30 day free trial. |

Thanks for the advice about using it if you are more experienced. I am still learning V Carve Pro and considering moving to Aspire.

Tectonix, just downloaded the rhino and madcam plug in, you say they have the axiom post processor already available, what name do they use? I can't seem to find it thx

Hi neverhappen Here is a direct link to the post file they made for me. just find the directory that the other post files are in, make one called Axiom in notepad, and paste this in there: (follow link) Reload madcam and this should appear in your post dropdown list. www.tectonicus.com/files/Axiom-MADcam-Postv5_2.txtMadcam is quite versatile, programmable, though a little buggy sometimes. It works best if both your model and bits are in MM, since your RIchAuto11 controller is also set in MM. email me directly at techtonix-at-gmail.com or contact madcam if you have any more issues.
