I recently purchased an Iconic and am still learning how to use it. I borrowed a tramming jig and found that I am not perpendicular in both the y and z axis. I did this on a piece of glass that was leveled.
Are there any beginner instructions or videos on how to tram the Iconic machine. I read a few posts about using shims for the Y axis and bolt adjustment for the X axis but this doesn't help me as I am new to this. Specifically, what bolts to I adjust for the x axis and what kind of shim do I use and where to I place the shims for the Y axis. Photos and step by step instructions would be ideal.
On a side note - many thanks to those who have replied to my prior beginner questions.

Here is what I do: 1. I make sure the spoil board is freshly surfaced 2. I place a granite surface block on about the center of the machine and send the spindle there 3. Not sure if by tramming jig you mean something like This but I use one of these about the surface plate 4. If it's off on the x axis meaning lower or higher on the left or right you would unscrew the spindle mount and add a shim, or say a piece of paper inside the spindle mount and tighten the mount again 5. It is going to involve a lot of trial and error until you get it right. I recommend just focusing on one axis at a time. Once one side is solid move to the next, or y axis. Here is a photo of what I was able to get after a few hours of playing with it: I hope this helps and let me know if I can help further. I will post the actual photo shortly. It's too large of a file it won't let me until I return to the shop

Tramming, or ensuring perpendicularity, is vital for precise work. While specifics may vary, typically, you adjust bolts for the X-axis alignment and use shims for the Y-axis. For the X-axis, locate bolts on the gantry or carriage assembly, loosen them, then adjust as needed. Shims are placed strategically under the machine base for the Y-axis alignment. Detailed instructions and visuals can be found in the manufacturer's documentation or online instructional videos. Don't hesitate to reach out to Monport's customer support for tailored guidance.
