It's my first time running my machine and it won't home. It makes a loud noise and vibrates really hard (it is already in the top left corner) and displays wait on the controller. I finally hit cancel as I was afraid something might break. The controller is then frozen and I can't get it to go to any other screen. Help! What do I do?

The loud noise and vibration sounds like the stepper motor(s) skipping steps. If that's the case, it's probably not harmful, but it indicates that one or more of your moment axes is frozen or blocked for some reason. Can you manually turn each ballscrew to move the gantry with the machine unplugged? If one of them won't turn, you'll need to check for what might be blocking the movement.

I am able to manually move the gantry and it will move back to home when I push origin however it displays "wait" and then starts with the loud noise and vibrating again until I hit cancel. Nothing is blocking the movement.

Call Axiom. They'll work through it with you and you'll learn a lot from talking to them.

I spoke with Axiom today. There seems to be a problem with the sensor for the Y axis. They gave me a few things to try which I haven't had a chance to do just yet.

That makes sense. There is a metal plate and yellow proximity sensor for each axis. When you home, the sensors keep the machine from moving any further in that direction (limit stop), and give the machine a frame of reference for how far it can go in the X, Y, Z directions from that absolute limit position. Both the metal plate and the sensors are held in place with screws, and they can come loose. When that happens the limit stop is lost and you can have the motor work away futilely. If these work right, there will be a red diode lighting up when the proximity sensor meets the plate.
One other thing to take away from this encounter is to understand your red 'e-stop' button. It's there to freeze everything when you run into problems, and that's going to happen. When you punch that red button, power is cut to the motors and spindle. It's actually a better safety switch than the pendant. It cuts power, the pendant is just a computer controlling the power.

The Axiom tech had me check the yellow sensor and it was not lighting up when I put metal against it. I took the red cover off and discovered that the a connection was loose. Once I snapped it all the way together it took care of the problem. As I am new to this machine I have a lot to learn about it. I wish the manual had a more in it like an exploded view with diagrams explaining more about the parts. There is nothing like that I could find and that was a bit disappointing. Usually when I need to fix something I can count on the internet for things like that. But at least I am up and running!

Hah, I read your reply while I was on the road and immediately thought "limit switch" - but I was on a 12 hour drive, so couldn't respond. Glad you got it worked out!
