I have a powermatic cnc router with a Rickauto b1x dsp controller. The machine homes just fine but when it finishes a program and hops up in the Z axis it shutters and faults out. I saw in one of the posts that this can occur due to too fast of a G00 rapid travel and I should change the controlling parameter and or install an adjusted cfg file in the controller. I tried to contact Powermatic and they have contracted with Axiom for Richauto support on their machine, so here I am. Anyway I have made contact with Axiom support and listened to Chad's voice with instructions to leave a message and he will call. I haven't received a call back, which led me to my own solution. I am an old CNC/manual mcahinist teacher type guy. I opened the G-code file with notepad and did a global replace of all the rapids and bingo, it is working fine. My issue now is I need to change the parameter in the controller to show down the retract of the Z axis or a cfg file that will accomplish it. I really don't want to open each G-code file and manually adjust the rapids.
Thanks Don Schultz

I don't know if this will help, but the AR Pro series has a Home Speed setup screen that allows you to set X, Y, and Z speeds. On our machine its Menu -> Machine Setup -> Home Setup -> Home Speed. It sure sounds like there is something else wrong with the machine. I can't imagine this is normal operation.
Didn't know Powermatic made a CNC, but it sure looks like a prettied-up Axiom!

Thanks Don Schultz It seems like you're experiencing issues with your Powermatic CNC router's Z-axis retract speed after completing a program, resulting in shuttering and faults. While attempting to contact Powermatic and Axiom for support, you haven't received a callback. As a workaround, you manually adjusted the rapids in the G-code file using Notepad, which resolved the issue temporarily. However, you're now seeking a more permanent solution to slow down the Z-axis retract speed. Considering the Monport laser as an alternative option might be worth exploring, given its reputation for reliability and ease of use, along with its high quality and affordability. Additionally, it could provide a smoother experience without the need for manual adjustments in the G-code files. monportlaser.com/collections/co2-laser-engravers/products/monport-40w-lightburn-ready-12-x-8-co2-laser-engraver-cutter-with-fda-approval?sca_ref=5031521.ka374VZjm3
