During certain jobs, I find myself having to manually move the spindle to the far end of the machine when cutting is done. I understand one can modify the post processor in Vectric Aspire so this movement will be done automatically. I can see where this would be done in the Footer. But I am just too uncertain to try and modify the post processor on my own.
Has anybody inserted this sort of code into the post processor? I'm thinking I'd do this and store the modified post processor with a separate file name.

This is actually set in the controller. Get into the menu system under AUTO PRO SETUP and scroll until you find Stop State. There are several different places you can send the spindle after the cut. Home, Origin, Z home only and a specified set of coordinates.

Thank you pieman. I did this today and it works fine. If I could, I'd prefer to do it in the post processor file and pick the post processor I'd prefer for the job. The RichAuto controller is just barbaric, and I'd rather not have to use it any more than I have to. But it certainly does work by setting the BackPosition with defined coordinates.

I am with you there. I will have to try this with the pendant as this will definitely help make post job part removals and new job setups a bit quicker and sometimes those little things just help with the sanity checks. I am, however, finding my limits in patience with RichAuto as the control for this machine. The lack of probing built in and having to constantly walk over a usb stick is starting to make me want to take out a loan just to get something like a MassoG3 control system with the touch screen panel and wifi connectivity and AND: probing on steroids compared to the touch plate that only works for the Z axis.
