Hi,
After two years of using my Icon CNC I want to resurface my spoilboard which has many divots, holes, etc., and also the MDF is "wrinkly" from using double sticky tape in places, or ripping off aggressive tape too quickly, etc.. Basically it's a mess, so I want to do a "deep" resurfacing at least 1 mm deep. Here is what I did... I "Tool Set" the Z axis using the aluminum hockey puck but it just skimming the surface, I need it to cut at least 1 mm of material off the whole top to make it like new again. How do I get the Z axis to go 1 mm deeper than the Tool Set using the puck? Do I just nudge down the Z axis a little after I do a Tool Set and run the program? Or do I nudge it down then press the "Z-0" button to lock in my Z a little deeper? I've only ever set the Z using the hockey puck so I guess I dont know how to set Z manually like X/Y.
Thanks for the help.

Duh, I figured it out. It comes down to me never learning how to set the Z axis manually. I just positioned the moritising bit so its blades came 1mm below the top by going between two of the spoil board slats. Pressed z-0 ran the program. Spoilboard is looking like new!
