I am new on here and am commissioning a used AR8 Pro. The issue I have is when I 'home' the machine, the Y axis proximity sensor engages (the light comes on) but is ignored and it keeps moving until a clash. I have checked the functionality by moving the Y axis, (using the pendant or the arrow keys) the sensor engages and the stepper motor stops (great!). The sensor is clearly working but the stop functionality during 'home all' doesn't work.
Any ideas as to why this could be happening?

I'm not certain that your correctly testing the sensor...as the sensor is only wired to stop machine travel during a home operation. Triggering that sensor while manually jogging the Axis using the Y+/Y- buttons will not stop the machines travel.
A proper test involves performing a HOME operation for just that axis alone...and triggering the sensor manually as the machine is moving toward HOME.
If the sensor lights up, then we know its getting power...if it stops the machine when triggered, then its working and may simply need to be re-positioned to properly engage.
If it fails to stop the machine travel, (but still lights up)...then there is most likely a connection related issue that's preventing the signal from getting through to the control system.
*A bad sensor is possible (but not altogether common).
We often see broken thumb screws on the cable which connects the handheld to the white control box...and this will result in pins not lining up properly, so the single from the sensor may not get back to the handheld where it needs to.
If needed, please feel free to give the support team a call for further assistance.
