My Axiom Dust shoe broke and I have tried to fix with 5 minute epoxy but had zero luck. Any one use the Dust boots from OneGuyInAShop that is on Etsy? Just curious how the PLA held up. I live in NY and do not heat my shop all year long and concerned it will bust.
I have an AR4 basic with router.
Thank you

I bought one of his dust boots and prefer it over the Axiom unit. It is really well made. The PLA seems to be very durable. I've smashed it into my 4th axis unit a couple of times and it got a bit dinged, but is still very solid. The ability to slide the boot up and down is a real plus, in addition to better collection geometry. The only quibble is that the sliding action of PLA on PLA isn't exactly luxurious. It works fine, but that's the only downside I see.
Edit: It must also be said that Keith is really attentive. It was a great buying experience.

If this is how you dust boot broke, this is my fix for mine. Fixed it a couple of years ago.

Fixed it a couple of years ago. <button disabled="" class="c-attachment-insert--linked o-btn--sm">Attachment Deleted</button> That is exactly how mine broke. I will definitely hold on to my old one and see if I can replicate this. I did end up ordering the one from Etsy and looking forward to seeing how it works. Thank you for the response your idea was brilliant.

My original acrylic dust boot adapter broke. I got a replacement from Axiom......then it also broke. My solution was to make one out of 1/2" plywood and hardware from a broken one. No issues since. Wood seems to flex better than the acrylic. DustShoeAdapter.crv (450.5 KB)
