I've got a harbor freight dc, although it collects a lot of dust, it's leaky and changing the bag creates it's own dust storm.
I'm looking at getting a new dc, I've been looking at the Oneida Supercell or V3000.
Does anyone have any experience with these units or a different one that works well and is fairly easy to clean out?
I've got a 30x32 workshop with ar8 cnc, table saw, planer drum sander etc.
Thanks,
Gary

Wynn Pleated filter for HF Dust collectorI change mine up with a Wynn Canister filter, and never looked back. I tried a couple of better bags, but they are nowhere as nice as this. Wynn Environmental
P.S. I changed mine at least 3 years ago. I STILL hardly have anything in the bottom bag. This is running A LOT through my CNC; wood & particle board.

Gary,
I have a Oneida 2 HP system that's been in operation for 17+ years with no issues. It is in a shop of your size and services the same tools and more. There is a 4" overhead line to my AR8 that Y's into a 6" pipe run. The Oneida is in a separate room with a door and return air into the shop area. Oneida has excellent design and support.

When I first set everything up about 5 or 6 years ago, I got a Wynn cartridge for the dc. When I put it on, it lost a lot of suction and wouldn't pull any chips. Probably had too much leakage somewher, but I never got it running right.
I got a powertec 1 micron filter bag and have been using that since then.
There is a lot of dust that just sits in the top bag, so when I change the bottom bag, it all empties out all over the place. I'm looking for a different design where the chips are easier to empty.

Adding a cyclone before the dust collector really helps. Now I dump this drum when it gets 1/2 full, and only touch my dust collector bags once every couple weeks.

Both the Oneida Supercell and V3000 dust catchers have worked well for me. Both of them work well and are easy to clean.
The Supercell is made for bigger shops and can handle more power. The V3000 is smaller and better for shops with less space. Both are dependable and do a great job of collecting dust.
