Axiom ar8 1 week CNC newby question If you start a cut and then have to cycle stop then cycle start again should the spindle start or watt would be the correct procedure any help appreciated. When you stop a job, the spindle should shut down automatically. Then it would power back up when you select the next job to run. If on the other hadn't you are Pausing a job that is currently in progress...the spindle should remain active.

Ok so watt would be the correct procedure if you have stop part the way through a cut lets say to move an offcut that has come loose and is at risk of contacting the bit. thanks for your help cheers.

There are a number of ways to do this....
You can use the RUN/PAUSE/DELETE button to Pause the machine at any time. However, it will not stop the spindle...so the only safe way to do this would be to pause the operation when the spindle is elevated and not actually cutting. (For example, during a shuttle or jog movement as the machine is moving between cuts).
The other option, which we feel is safer...is to use the BreakPoint function.
Where you simply press the STOP/CANCEL button one time...and the machine will ask you to save a break.
When you press OK to save the breakpoint, you will then choose a numbered location to save that point to (1 thru 8).
Afterwards, you can make any changes needed...including turning the machine off and leaving the shop for the day.
If the machine is turned OFF, just remember that you need to HOME the machine before resuming the job.
These details and operation for saving a breakpoint as well as resuming from the breakpoint will be covered further in the manual.
