In trying to make chess pieces with my recently-purchased 4th axis, I have been having trouble with the piece being completed when the machine thinks the file is done. I have been thinking it is a VCarve software issue. I looking closer at the G-code, it appears the machine is ignoring 0-to-360 and 360-to-0 A-axis commands. Code snippet - ... N64100G1A0.000 N64110G1Y88.639Z22.494 N64120G1A360.000 N64130G1Y88.798Z22.465 N64140G1A0.000 N64150G1Y88.957Z22.434 N64160G1A360.000 N64170G1Y89.116Z22.396 N64180G1A0.000 ...
When this (long) section of code runs, the result is a line carved down the length of the piece that follows the contour of the piece along that line. Since 360 and 0 degrees are at the same place, is my controller interpreting these A-axis commands as NULL movements? Do I need a controller firmware update?
I have more details about these troubles at the VECTRIC forum, with images of results and links to the full MMG file -

Yup.... There’s a setting buried deep in the controller settings to handle this. Thank you for steering me through the maze. ....AND the machine shutdown and reboot required to save the setting.

That would be it. Axiom resolved this a couple years ago but I guess new rotary users still need to implement this change.

...and now that it's resolved, I want to see the Chess pieces. Been thinking about trying this for a while. Tim
