We have a 2013 Multitech 1313 4x4 CNC that we’ve run for the last 3 years until a mechanical failure caused us to go shopping. We received our AR16 just over a week ago and have tried to carve our first 3D carves today. Out of 3 attempts, we’ve had to redo the first(which also did not turn out as detailed on this attempt as the last time we cut it on our old machine) The second one turned out fine, it seems(this one had the least amount of fine detail of the 3). Now the 3rd attempt of a very detailed carve and the results are very underwhelming. The detail is less than half of what the old machine put out. We used the same file, same bits, same settings, same, same, same. There isn’t exactly time with the current Christmas rush to be redoing things. Any advice out there?

Set up a test cut, cut using your normal parameters and maybe a more conservative. Cut a square, a circle
Measure these and compare to your vectors. Check for square /size and if the circle is a circle. Veneer would be accurate and a nice square.
I personally had parameters with the firmware or whatever that gave me oblong circles. Starting point.

Hey, Rob, If you have not contacted our support team, please do. We do not recommend using the exact same files as your old machine, this will be causing the results you are experiencing.
