I cant seem to get multiple passes working. In the Vcarve desktop software the preview works fine, it makes my profile cut in 3 passes. However when I save that mmg file to a flash drive then actually run it, the Iconic 4 runs it at full depth first time. However in a previous job with aluminum my multiple passes were working fine. I've attached screen shots of all my settings, the Edit Tool screen, The Profile screen, The Edit Passes screen, and The Preview screen to show that Vetric thinks its 3 passes. In other words in the software simulation it does 3 passes, but on the real machine it goes full depth. What could possibly be going on, should I try rebooting the machine? My material is .5 inch thick plywood, my total depth is .55 just to make sure I get completely through.

OK heres what I found out. There appears to be a repeatable bug in Vcarve. If I create my tool path and change it a lot, revising the multiple pass parameters. Then when I export it to MMG it can occasionally not send the multiple pass commands to the MMG file. But if I create my tool path, and apply all my desired settings correctly the first time, then do the Calculate and save the document Then export to MMG, everything works fine, the MMG file gets the multi pass commands. What I had to do to fix this was completely delete the Profile toolpath and re-create it from scratch without making a lot of revisions, then it all worked the MMG file received the multi pass codes. I dont know if Axiom reports bugs to Vetric, but there is definitely something weird going on if you make a lot of tool path changes of a multi pass tool path, where it might not send the multi pass codes to the MMG at the end.

Have you reported it to Vectric? Send your description of problem, gcode, and crv file to 'support@vectric.com'. This seems too general to be a bug. There would be LOTS of complaints if this were true. I use multiple pass and MMG file without a problem. So do a lot of others. What Post are you using?
