I own an AR8 Pro+ which I purchased on April 11, 2019. I have had to replace the cooling system pump twice, and so the coolant has been refreshed twice. I'm pretty sure I know what's going on here, but I'd like to have your comments about it anyway. In this video, I'm just turning on the spindle. You should hear it when it's carving. Listen and post your thoughts, please.

Hey gollyrojer,
Sounds like the spindle is going out. My five tear old AR8 Pro made the same noise twice now within the last year. I let it run and it seems to subside. One day I know it will fail... but today isn't the day. I change the fluid as directed.

Before replacing the motor, a little testing can be helpful. First remove the collet nut and collet...to test the spindle bear. This will tell us if balance is at all involved. *Collets often may need replaced and can become out of balance if ever dropped. In addition, you may find that a bit of maintenance to the lower portion of the spindle can be helpful. The noises in the video, can certainly be bearing related but we have experienced similar anomalies due to dust buildup.... If you remove the spindle from the motor clamp (be careful of the weight)...and just lay it down on the table. *There would be no reason to remove the coolant lines... Remove the collet nut from the bottom of the spindle...then remove the larger black plate that is held to the bottom of the spindle motor with 4 cap screws. Once removed, you may find a fair amount of dust packed in there. This can be blown/vacuumed clean. There is a smaller silver ring that actually prevents you from accessing the bearing itself. While you can not remove this bearing, compressed air may be of assistance if there is any dust etc in the bearing behind the ring...

We do try to keep replacement spindles in stock, however, presently they have become backordered due to manufacturer delays. (presumably virus related).
They are on order and would be expected shortly.

Here's my spindle when I began following Chad's guidance.
After I cleaned and blew that out thoroughly, the spindle stopped whining and sounded like it should.
