What is the most bang for the buck. I have searched online and have found that the max Horsepower router I can get is 2.25HP. I understand a spindle is the way to go however I just bought a used Auto Route 6 24x36. Came with a Porter cable 6902. ( 1 speed only) I thought the vetric software controlled the speed and was informed that it does not. All suggestions are welcomed. Thanks Harry This is also my first post so if I need corrected on something please let me know.

I had the sane machine when I started but used a 692 PC, had variable speed dial. Worked alright despite the noise but after awhile the dust that the router pulls up for air movement started to effect the motor startup, and noticed a sound. Used a dewalt, with same speed dial, still noisy. The motor was significantly shorter than PC which made putting on dust shoe difficult.
Just my experience

Bosch 1617EVS have used them for years and they last a long time and bearings can be replaced when necessary.

I currently have that model in my router table but the start stop switch is a little touchy. I've had it for many years.. I think I am going to go with this, and it make sense because it will also fit right into my router table I built. (Norm Abrahams Model) Thanks Harry
