Hi All
My latest project is a Byzantine era portable sundial/calendar. The interior gears are Baltic Birch. The main body, stand and gnomon are European Birch. The hanger and day knob are black Walnut. The front and back faces are brushed brass plastic. The brushed brass is a .003" coating on black plastic for engraving. Available at Johnson plastics in Portland, Oregon.

Mikeg...it may all be "Greek to Me", but that's beautiful! Did you do the files for this or obtain them somewhere?

I did all the files myself. The research for this project took almost a year. Some of the measurements had to be taken off photos of the original (displayed in the London Science museum) and a copy made by Michael Wright. - Mike G
