So if you are in AWACS you soon realize that everybody runs around with dry erase markers for their briefings. Soon you start to see people taping them together in a rag a muffin fashion and then rarely you get a guy with something like this....this marker block is a two sided inlay one side has a friend of mines callsign and the other has the E-3. The inlay is maple and the block is mahogany. I used a 60 degree 1/4 inch bit for both the male and the female parts. Ultimately I cut both of them out with the v-carve tool path the male insert at .15 inch flat depth and the female at .2 then I lowered the z axis by 1000mm and re-zeroed and ran the tool path again. The reason I had to do it this way was due to the program giving me an error if I tried to make the recess any deeper. It made for a really detailed nice inlay. Let me know if you guys have tried anything else that has worked also. Attachments:

Fantastic inlay! I am continually amazed at the variety of projects that can be done with these machines.
