Present Problem. My newly installed laser starts up as soon as I hit the left Arrow key on my HUST controller and does not go off between letters on the sign.
I see that J Tech has a Post Processor File on their Web. Do I need that file? Even if I did, would it work on the new Elite model?
If you care for some background:
It has taken me 3 weeks to get to this point, This must be a new line, It has a new HUST controller, New Spindle control, and Servo motors, however I understand the 4th Axis is a stepper motor...
1. First problem was a bent pin on a connector. I know that I did not damage that pin.
So I had to wait a couple days to find out if I needed that pin.
Luckily the pin is for the Gantry light, Chad sent me the instructions to wire around the bent pin.
At this time I realized that my controller was not compatible to the pictures in the instructions. So I own a gantry light that I can't install with info that I have..
2. I only had one Axiom Post Processor file on my Aspire 9.015 and so I used that. I wasted several days trying to get my machine to move.
Someone on the Vectric Forum sent me a copy of his Post Processor file _Axiom Elite NTC (mm) (*.CNC).
3. I start a simple engraving job on scrap plywood.
As soon as I started the spindle, the coolant pump leaked. So I had to wait on a few days for a new coolant pump.
4. It took me a long day to just fly cut the table top as recommended, finally realized that I had 2 limit switches turned inside. I straightened and retightened the limit switches.
5. I need more info on HUST controller. It has been slow going. For one thing the J Tech manual explains how to stop the Spindle delay, however I don't even have a menu button.
6. It took a week and a lot of help from Chad to install the laser since I didn't have instructions or pictures. It took me a day or two for each simple looking step in the instructions.
He must be tired from seeing my Texts. I need pictures to clarify texted messages. I did take a lot of pictures.
Also I used Velcro to install the laser driver on the tool box side because it will not fit on top of controller as pictured in the Instruction Manual.
7. After I get the long laser cable installed, all wires connected inside the controller, and the laser connected on the spindle I see a wire is pulled off a connector for the Laser.
So I had to wait a few days for J Tech sent me a new cable.
They hinted that I must have done this, however the replacement cable has heavy duty shrink wrap added around the wire and connector. He may of added that just for me.
There is one difficult spot when the cable goes from the gantry to underneath the table this is a tight fit on my machine. If I did pull the wire off the connector, this is where it must have happened.
8. Also there was not any info about setting up a tool for the 4.2 watt laser. I watched some You Tubes and searched the web found nothing for installing a 4.2 watt on an Axiom Elite machine.
I immediately all the info from Axiom and J Tech. I delayed asking because I hoped to find the information all by myself.
9. I search the web trying to see everything about programming a laser. This is my first attempt with a laser.
So my problem may be in my program. I've never even seen one operate in person.
So I am spending my 3rd weekend waiting on Monday for clarification to perform my next step. I am only able to work one step at a time.
10. Had to send my 4th axis back, since it was damaged during shipping. I have no idea what it will take to install the 4th Axis.
I am not looking forward to that. I am in no hurry to get it back.
Do I have to rewire anything in the controller? If so I will wait for the corrected manual with pictured instructions.
Plus I have no idea how to program for 4th axis, You Tube this only after I get the Laser working.
Sorry for the long vent. Remember my present problem is a with laser engraving.
