Hello, I am attempting to use a marker holder tool in the Axiom AR 16 elite machine. I have entered the tool in the tool database in the Aspire software and set the tool to Diamond Drag and the spindle speed to 0. When I run the job, the spindle still turns on. Why is the spindle coming on? Is this a software issue or a hardware issue? Is there a manual way to set the spindle speed to 0 on the machine? If so, how?
Thank you in advance answering my questions.

Hi Jack, I guess the best way to describe it is that it is neither a hardware or software issue but rather a design issue. The Axiom machines are not designed to take the spindle speed from the program as Vectric is designed to provide, but rather is manually set via the VFD controller on the front panel of the power supply box. I haven't done much other than adjust the rpm, via the knob, but if I’m not mistaken you can just turn the spindle off via that control panel. The Axiom as well as many “hobby” type machines are not designed to do everything the Vectric software is able to provide. Another example is tool changer. Vectric can automatically change tool bits but the hardware is not designed for that function.

Thank you for the answer Roger, it pushed me in the right direction.
My machine does not have a VFD controller on the front panel. I was able to make the adjustment with the handheld controller.
