Dear Forum friends, got a quick question looking for a little help. I'm using the 2.8W laser on an Iconic machine. have been using it for some time with little to no issues, I do have to shim the safety switch with a slice of paper sometimes but otherwise it works great.
just today the fan the top of the laser unit refuses to run.
I can toggle the laser on and off with the "spindle" button on the RichAuto controller, the lights on the laser box with all of the switches light up as normal and the fan on top of that unit runs just fine. answer the easy questions I have the spindle delay correct, and using the correct post processor like I said been using it for some time with no problems. just this darn fan doesn't run. I have never disassembled the laser unit, is it easy to remove and check for voltage at the connections? does anybody know what that value should be? could it be that the little tiny fan motor has given up and doesn't want to play anymore? does Jtech retail parts?
thanks for looking and appreciate any advice.
Abort Mission Friends, rookie mistake. i pulled the plug out of the back of the box while cleaning up and totally failed to check all the connections before running over here with my hair on fire. thanks for looking anyways.

It's great to hear that you've been enjoying your experience with the Monport laser on your Iconic machine! Regarding your recent issue with the fan on the laser unit, it's understandable to troubleshoot potential causes. While disassembling the laser unit to check for voltage at the connections is possible, it's essential to exercise caution and follow proper safety procedures. Additionally, if needed, JTech does retail parts for their laser units, including fans. However, before delving into disassembly, it's always a good idea to double-check all connections and ensure everything is securely plugged in. In your case, it seems like the issue was resolved by checking the connections. Remember, it's always better to be safe than sorry!
