I consistently get these redirect lines when 3D finish pathing. Anyone have any thoughts or advice on how to avoid/prevent? Can’t see how to add pics here 🤷♂️

Edit your post. Near the top of the Edit box there is an 'add attachment' box near the right side. There is also an insert image icon box. These have to be done in the 'full' editor, not the quick reply box that is the default.

What tool are you using for the finishing path? What stepover are you using? What does the simulation look like? Are you leaning on the machine to get a closer look? This might sound like a dumb question, but it has happened and caused similar problems.

I consistently get these redirect lines when 3D finish pathing. Anyone have any thoughts or advice on how to avoid/prevent? With 3D carvings, the cut process is exceptionally sensitive to changes in the Z axis. For example, I used to do some sign work and would cut lettering with a solid bottom and chamfered edges and any slight deviation in surface height was immediately apparent in a widening of the chamfer. In this instance, you can tell the stock is moving because if it was an issue with your rails, the problem would be uniform and repeatable across whatever projects you cut in that area of your machine. To solve this issue, you need to use more aggressive hold-down methods. For large 3D carvings, I would recommend using a double-sided tape, or a masking-tape/superglue hold-down method. This ensures that the stock stays well adhered to your spoilboard for the duration of the cut and prevents things like the stock bowing slightly during the cut while removing material from a certain area. Here's a video outlining the process I use for these types of cuts (pardon the Carbide3D video, hah): That should take care of these issues for you assuming you've double-checked to ensure your spoilboard is sturdily affixed to your machine and is properly faced.

Also, one more question. What are redirect lines? I'm also not sure what travel lines are.
