The problem - Our AR8 will not travel consistently (or at all) on the Y axis. It hesitates, vibrates, and overall will not move smoothly.
1. First we checked all of our lubrication points and lubricated them appropriately. This did not change the situation.
2. Second we found a broken coupler on the Y axis. We purchased a new coupler and replaced it. This did not change the situation
3. We reprogramed the settings in the controller per Chad M's directions. This did not change the situation.
4. Last we have disconnected the machine from the Y axis screw and it slides back and forth smoothly on the Y axis but the motor and ball screw still hesitate to move even when not connected to anything. - We still have the same problem.
What do we do next?
Any help here is appreciated. I had been in communication with Chad M from Axiom in October and November as we worked to slowly troubleshoot the problem. However after his last communcation email with me in early December I have not recieved any further responses to my emails? Currently I have a very expensive paperweight in my School's Shop and I have administrators not happy about it!!! What do I do?

When I had the very same issues, abuck@axiomtoolgroup.com was the person who walked me through the alignment process and I haven’t had an issue since. I’m fairly sure it’s an alignment issue on y. You have nothing to lose by contacting Austin and everything to gain!
