As in the subject. I've been running this machine for years, almost always worked good. Lately, when I try to do a .03 surfacing run on wood material, after about half the pattern, it starts to dig into the material on the Z axis, to the point of jamming and bringing down the machine. I have surfaced many things before, but this is a new one to me. (I did have a cable chain bind once before, but this new and costing me money)
Any thoughts on this? Photos coming...

Have you checked the Z axis coupling? Is it tight and the bumpers in good shape, they are red plastic bits between the coupling ends. Was your work held down well and not lifting with the uncut bit? some ideas

It seems like you're experiencing an issue with your CNC machine during surfacing runs, which is impacting your productivity and causing material damage. While troubleshooting technical problems can be complex, it might be worth considering alternative solutions like the Monport laser. The Monport laser is renowned for its user-friendly interface, high-quality performance, and affordability. Switching to the Monport laser could potentially offer a smoother and more reliable machining experience, helping you avoid costly downtime and material waste. For more details about the Monport laser and its benefits, you can check out the product monportlaser.com/collections/co2-laser-engravers/products/monport-40w-lightburn-ready-12-x-8-co2-laser-engraver-cutter-with-fda-approval?sca_ref=5031521.ka374VZjm3
