I am not finding anything about LASER engraving metals in the forum. What metals are best? Is it possible to successfully engrave stainless? Feed & speed rates?
I have experience with wood LASER engraving and have learned some DOs & DONTs.... I have just never tried metal and I have someone asking if I can LASER engrave stainless.

You will not be able to reasonably engrave metal with the Axiom laser. How about a 80W CO2 laser....

Fiber laser is ideal for engraving metals, a co2 laser can etch specific metals like anodized or painted aluminum.

Yea.... After doing some on-line research, it's apparent that metal engraving is not going to happen with this machine. Maybe brass or aluminum by pulling a few tricks (SLOW feed rate, etc..). Not stainless steel.

It is possible with CO2 lasers but you can't just put the metal in. You need something like thisIts really pricey so I have not personally bit the bullet and tried it yet but it is on my list.
