Is there anything in the works as far as adding a automatic tool changer to the Axiom offering?

We are currently working on an automatic tool changer option for our Elite machines. Due to construction and wiring differences, the ATC feature will not be available as an add-on for existing machines. We hoping to have this machine available before the 2nd quarter of this year. Stay tuned.

rahmit, we are in high hopes to have the ATC released before the end of the 2nd quarter of this year. We cannot promise lead times or shipping dates as of yet, but we can accept pre-orders for the ATC machine. If you are interested in this or have questions, give our sales rep, Craig, a call at 614-929-3113. Thank you.

Stay tuned. That is most unfortunate, as I purchased the AR16 Elite in December 2019. Would have been nice to have had that option available before I purchased, but I would still love to see the new unit. When will you have any pictures of the changer? Also, will there be any upgrades in the works for the Elite machines? Thanks, Mike Guerrero

Hi... I'm brand new here joined last week and this is my first post.
I have been looking at the Elite Series for some time now and now see that an ATC will be made available soon. Will the ATC be available on the 24 * 48 Inch Machine if so how many Tools will the ATC carry and what is the approximate additional cost?
The Laser attachment..... has anyone tried to Laser engrave Anodized Alum..... so you are only removing the Anodized surface. Has anyone had extensive experience with the Laser and is it worth it?
Cutting Alum.... I have 45 Years experience in cutting Aluminum from 1/16 to 16 inch thick in 7000,6000,5000, M Plate.... Material for the Blow Molding Industry and Aircraft Industry using 3,4,& 5 Axis CNC Machines.... how well do these machines cut Alum .125 thick can they do it and do they stand up to it. Do you run the machine with a Mist Blast when cutting the Alum?
I live near Orangeville Ontario and would love to be able to see one of these machines in operation outside of a Sales Presentation any where in Brampton, Mississauga or the Greater Toronto area would be fine..... I'll bring the Coffee.
Thanks in advance for any help.
Russell

The ATC is being developed in conjunction with the release of 3 new Elite series machines.
The existing AR8 (24x48) and AR16 (48x48) we hope will remain available (without the tool-changers)...but a new version of each (AR8 and AR16) will become available which include the pneumatic tool-changer system as part of the machine.
An additional machine is expected to join this Elite line up as well...our new AR25 (61x61) Elite is expected to be released later this year as well. *Including the tool-changer.
The expected cost difference for the tool-changer is expected to be around $4000-4500.
*Presently, due to the required wiring differences and the pneumatic air system...the tool-changer is not yet expected to be available to add-on to existing machines.
With regards to the Laser and its application with anodized metals...We have had some considerable success with anodized aluminum parts, pocket knives and other items like our clamps. For these items, the color of the anodization does seem to have some effect on the final product...as the laser does not completely remove the anodizing, rather it seems more to remove the color.
While Axiom machines were designed for woodworking, the all metal construction and rigidity allow for easy machining of materials ranging from plastics and domestic hardwoods to non-ferrous metals and exotics.
The machines are not rated for wet application as a metal mill would be...however, with the correct tooling (such as an O-flute bit) aluminum and other non-ferrous metals can easily be cut dry without lubricaiton.
If a lot of aluminum is to be machines, a kool-mist system can be used to lightly apply lubricant to the material at the point of cut.
For non-ferrous metal applications, the Pro series machine would provide a greater rigidity and accuracy.
