I have a AR8 Elite with a Hust controller. Is there any way to run your toolpath on the machine before starting the job. On my laser you can run a FRAME and it will frame out the job and show your job is within the XY parameters of the machine. It prevents you from starting a job and it ending in a Soft Y or X error because you may have exceeded the parameters by a 1/10 of an inch.

If I gather what you are asking, you can always run the file with setting your Z height. It should run the file without touching any wood.

I thought about that this morning. I can make a toolpath with a faster feedrate and elevated to run the perimeter of the job to make sure it makes it ok.

The controller should tell you if your exceeding the limits when you hit start. My ar16 does and the basic I had years ago did as well.
The above mention is a good idea too, set a Z height above and can watch.

Is your AR16 an Elite model and use the Hust controller?

I literally figured this out on day one. Well actually to be truthful, I WANTED my machine to carve and it wouldn't break the surface of the material. LOL.

Running the file with the Z-Axis elevated is the best option with the HUST controller....
Unlike the RichAuto controllers, the HUST controller will not tell you if there is a soft limit error before the file begins.
