Everything I have been doing thus far, has been testing. Learning the machine, bits, etc. This is my first project for $$$. Where I am located, the county is considered the "Pecan Capital of the World". Additionally, the high school mascot is an armadillo. School colors are purple and gold. So, it seemed fitting to make a cutting board from 8/4 Pecan. With a purple heart, armadillo inlay. First pic is before mineral oil, followed by oiled. I think it turned out well. No issues with the inlay. Really enjoying my new machine. Used a 1/4" and 1/8" down cut end mill to clear. Amana 45611-K, 15 degree v-bit for the v carve itself. CC

Very nice. I've had my ARPro6 for 5 years and I still haven't even tried a inlay. I've done similar things, but use epoxy.

I totally agree with the others. That came out MIGHTY NICE, indeed. I have never done one, but am anxious to do so. Gonna try it on some scrap Poplar, before committing an intent on some Walnut, incorporating some Maple wood inlay, on a cutting board. Thanks for sharing.
