I am getting ready to pull the trigger on an AR8 Pro. Not sure if I want the Axiom provided stand, Thinking of making my own. Can anyone provide the dimensions between the four mounting bolts? The manual provides the fastener size but not the mounting dimensions.

The stands that Axiom offers for their machines is a TANK. The thing weighs a ton and does not move when you are cutting. Could you make one like it for less? Probably, but this thing goes together easy and is super strong. It will last forever. For me, I wanted it already built and ready to go. Personally, I think it was money well spent!

I agree with Steve. I was a carpentry contractor for many years and I'm sure that I could make a stand that would work, but I doubt that it would be as rigid. Now if you weld and have easy access to the steel required, maybe that would be different.

I am definitely on the fence regarding purchase or make. I do have access to welding equipment etc. and priced out the material, casters etc. It can be done for less if you do not factor in your time. The savings are small and support just getting the Axiom stand. I was considering a heavy wooden stand. I know I could do that for much less. As you pointed out however, stiffness would be much less. I will likely just get the Axiom stand. Thanks for taking the time to provide comments.

I got an AR8Pro+ with both the stand and toolbox. Well worth the cost. Extremely well made.

The mounting holes are about 30 1/2 x 59 inches on center. I built a stand for mine. It seems to work okay.

I built my stand for an AR6Pro. Been a Carpenter forever so was hard not too. Built like a 2 story house and braced off to a wall. The thing does not move.
Yours is a very nice looking stand Loren.
