Whenever i set the machine to home it doesnt stop at the end of the table. It continues to keep trying to move forward. One of the limit sensors has a red light on it. Does that mean that something is wrong with it?

Which direction does the machine continue to move - x or y? The red light on the sensor means the end of travel has been sensed and the travel should stop in that direction. It could be that the bracket that the limit switch is sensing could be loose.

Its Y axis which keeps trying to move. The sensor on the motor rig is the one that is lighting up red.

Not sure what you mean by "motor rig". The sensor for the Y axis is under the left (as you're facing the front of the machine) upright and is hard to see. The bracket is the L shaped sheet metal part attached to the black rail under the aluminum bed toward the front of the machine. Check if this is loose or missing.

To clarify...each axis has its own sensor which in the case of the X and Y axis would be triggered by a metal tab found near the end of the travel.
For the Y axis...if its over traveling this is most likely due to the sensor becoming loose and rotating so that its no longer properly aligned with that metal tab.
Please take a look under the gantry on the left (HOME) side of the machine....you should find this yellow proximity sensor, which should be facing straight across the table, parallel to the X axis...with the wire coming out of the back side of the sensor (farthest left of the machine)..
We hope this information is helpful.

I am having this same problem. Is it possible to send a picture of the proximity sensor. I did do some cleaning under the machine and I am a clutz when it comes to following instructions with wires I am not too familiar with.

The limit switch is the yellow thing. It trips against a metal tab. Tab is movable, tighten after reset. There is a separate one for X, Y, and Z.

Everything seems to be in place. Are there any other solutions that I could consider. Could it be software?

I deleted a bunch of files on my AR8 around the same time I cleaned the machine. I had some projects on it for some time and decided to delete them. Could this be a problem. I know that I saved a file on there some time ago to resolve an issue and I am now thinking that I deleted an important file.

Hi Guys,
The recent guest comments are me. I forgot to log in. So just to reiterate, I believe that the files that I deleted on the machine which I thought were all project files had one that was necessary to running the machine. I have an AR8 and I did receive some updates and some issues where I had to place something on the machine. I am going through my emails to see what was the issue prior and I haven't been able to find it yet.
