If I am not mistaken, that runs of a standard compressor and uses the venturi effect to operate. Not 100% sure, but I do believe that is how it works.

Yes! I really don't think you need a 5 h.p. compressor. I have a Harbor Freight with a 30 gal tank, but it only cost $150. For me, I would like one with a larger tank, because when I spray even a 30 gal tank isn't enough to keep the compressor from running quite alot. One of the guys I know that has a cnc and uses air pods. He made his own pucks and got a vacume pump from Harbor Freight. I think he said it was about $100 if you don't have a coupon. Check with Axiom! I think their system runs on a standard compressor.

You can get a 4 CFM pump off eBay for about $75 or Rockler sells a Gast 1.1 CFM vacuum pump for $399.
The eBay and Harbor Freight pumps produce an oil mist so you might want to keep them in an enclosure, or some guys have rigged up toilet paper rolls to absorb the mist.

Don't mean to disappoint anyone but I bought the pods having had a couple of decades experience with vacuum tables and pods. They didn't work work worth a hoot. Threw $100.00 down the drain and after a few days, I threw the pods after them. Tried a lot of tricks but nothing worked. Wouldn't even hold down a piece of plexi.

Dusty: I would have called Axiom and let them know they don't work and send them back for a refund. I am sure they would do that for you.

With these pods, its very important to note that the mounting screws/t-nuts are within the vacuum area. (not our design)...
So these mounting screws must be perfectly perpendicular and tight. If tilted, or loose...the vacuum will leak around the screw heads.
We have returned a very small number of these sets...but if desired our sales team would be happy to assist you.

For anyone else considering these I had the same experience as Dusty. I appreciate Axiom's explanation, but from what I saw the tolerance at the hose connections were the issues for the set I received. The concept is there but they just fell short in my opinion.

We do apologize for any milling irregularities on the pods...we do not produce those ourselves, however, we are happy to address any concerns and replace anything that is defective.

Axiom, you have always been good with your support and products. I would suggest you drop the manufacture of the pods. Your machines are too good to have them mess up your reputation.
