Greetings All, Just a quick note of thanks to all who attended the recent VCarve Training at the Axiom Headquarters. Plenty of ideas and questions from the group. I trust all your questions were answered and maybe some new ides were created.
I hope all have a safe travel back home and hope you see you again at another level of training.
Best regards, Michael Mezalick

I attended this training class at the Axiom HQ in Columbus. Well worth it!!! I have been using Aspire for about a year. In this class, I expected to review some of the basics that I have already used plus some training on features that I haven't used much (like 'Copy Along Vectors' when making cribbage boards). I was completely impressed with the tutorials that were presented, the real-world examples that Michael shared, and all the tricks & shortcuts that only an experienced veteran would know. He also offered tips on how to lay out your model so it is aesthetically pleasing and suggested ways to finish the workpiece.
Great class. Thanks Michael.

Yes, Im sure there would be signifant numbers of participants out West US and from up here in Western Canada to make it worthwhile for a course out in Seattle or somewhere like that. Something to consider I would think. I certainly would sign up for your courses out West. Still contemplating your course in the east but its a long haul from where we are located in the Arctic.
Cheers, Eric

Now you're talking!! I took level 1 in Columbus in January. I must have been nuts to go to Columbus in January. Loved the class. I live in Seattle and would absolutely attend level 2 here. In fact I'll buy the first round.

Where's the training video, this is nothing more then a marketing point.
Obviously, the capability is there for Axiom to record these sessions. Folks have been clamoring for videos from Axiom for a long time. If it's a money thing (it always is), charge a small fee to axiom owners. Many of us cannot attend these training sessions, even if we wanted to and had the means.

Regarding videos...there are already hundreds of Vectric software videos existing. Created and provided for free by Vectric.
What you get by attending a class is much more...from hands-on experience to learning from experts in the field. However, each class is somewhat different as we gauge the interests of the attendee's and fit the class format slightly to serve those interests.
This all combined with the benefit of learning from the other attendee's (from their experience and questions)....creates a complete package which really makes the classes worth the investment for those who attend.
However, it is also part of the reason that these classes are not available online...you simply can not benefit from hand-on experience and ask questions in that format and keep in mind that these classes are available for all CNC users....not limited to Axiom customers and many attendees do not own a machine yet, so they can not readily apply what they are learning unless they can benefit from seeing it first hand.
While it really should not need said...there are expenses involved as with any business venture and providing videos of these classes online...even for a fee very well could create a scenario where those videos would eventually be shared for free.
It has always been our desire to increase the user experience and continue to create industry changing machines and accessories...but to do that we need to be able to provide services that are profitable and with our small team, web hosting safely and securely requires resources and time that at the currently we simply can not devote to it.
Keep in mind that what we are offering with these classes is not being provided anywhere else...largely for many of those same reasons.
We have discussed the possibility of hosting classes at another location in an effort to make traveling to a class easier, however, this comes with its own set of difficulties. With luck some time in the future, we will be able to provide a location closer to the West coast shortening the travel distance required.

When I originally ordered my machine, I took the Level 1 class from Michael. I had been using Vcarve Desktop for a while, but I thought I'd sign up since I was travelling there to get my final pre-look at the machine. GREAT CLASS!! I learned a lot. I'd like to take an Aspire class now to up my game.

Great class, Mike. The training switched on a few lightbulbs for me. I can't say enough about the quality of the training, and about the staff and the facility at Axiom. Top to bottom, a fantastic group of people.
I can't make the Level II in August. So I'll be watching the Axiom web site for a Level II later this year.

Best regards, Michael Mezalick Hi Michael and the staff at Axiom. I travelled from Australia to attend the class last week..... was it worth it ? yes without a second thought, I will be back for level 2 training as soon as my work time allows. The theory on software was enlightening, all my questions were answered by Michael with a great deal of understanding of what a new Axiom and Aspire owner can absorb in 2 days, I will now spend time with the software and hardware in preparation for my level 2 training. The Axiom guys were fantastic answering all our questions and going through maintenance of the CNC. If anyone is considering attending a class then I urge you to make the time available. Thank you all once again. Kind regards, Ron

Well, another great training class completed. Here’s a quick look at the new project lesson offered at this past weeks Vectric Software Training at the Axiom Headquarters. I call it a “ Stacked Dish “ We’ll be working thru this project again at upcoming meetings. Hope to see you there. www.axiomprecision.com/vectric-axiom-cnc-training-class.htmlMichael

Excellent class presented by Michael. Great instruction for anyone new to vectric or considering an Axiom. Plenty of interaction with the students and left time at the end of each day to address specific questions well beyond the original courseware. Many students had experience with the software but with all of Michael's experience there was plenty to still take away from the class. Highly looking forward to the level 2 class and any follow on training as well.
Thanks!

Michael, wondering if there are any prerequisites for attending the Level 3 class? Not requirements, but suggested. I've had Aspire for a couple of years now, but I really use it for the most basic modeling stuff. Really basic, like taking a circle and making a half sphere.

Redwood, No real prerequisites but real "It would better if you" type of things. First, it is an Aspire only class,,, if a person uses VCarve they will be lost with the first lesson. It's a hands-on class so knowing how to draw vectors is important. It's really about 3-D modeling. If something could be done in VCarve it would have been shown in Level 1 or Level 2 We start off simple and add more complexity with each lesson. At some point most people find their limit. That's okay because it helps to know what you don't know.
Hope this help understand the class agenda. See you there. Michael
