The main takeaway from this video is the time difference in texturing vs fluting.
A couple things to note from the video:

The fluting time can be decreased even further by first creating two vertical lines, node edit mode, reverse direction of the second line, and then copying those two lines for all of the fluting lines. This will reduce rapid movement.
The VCarve toolpath doesn't need an extra line like I showed. All I needed to do was to not select the outside vector on the logo. A duhhh moment for sure.
