I have two nephews who are still serving in the Army Reserves and one in Law Enforcement in Louisiana. I wanted to show my appreciation by giving them something of my efforts. I am adding pictures of plaques that are representative of their individual units. I changed the 2D images into 3D in Vetric Aspire and milled them on my Axiom Autoroute 8. It has taken a LONG time to do the 3D images and 10 to 13 hours each of machine time. However difficult and time consuming, it was a labor of love.

Great job, I hope they appreciate your work, as much as you appreciate theirs.

Very nice! Perhaps they'll show them off to their buddies and you can get some paid work out of it! Never happens to me, but I always have hope!

Beautiful work Sir, and the surface finish looks flawless.

Thanks guys. One of the Army guys did say that this would make a good retirement gift and that could lead to paid work in the future. I really do this as a means of trying to keep my old brain active and haven't charged anyone for work except for maybe a lunch or reimbursement for bit purchase. I would find it difficult to come up with a price that would reflect the amount of time (15-20 hours Aspire & 10-15 hours machine time). The wood for the dark ones are Willow with light Walnut stain and the lighter one is Poplar with Colonial Maple stain.
