I just had to reinstall VCarve and noticed there was another bit of software i could install. Has anyone tried this to see if it can work work with our machines and controllers?

VTransfer is meant to make transferring files from the PC to some grbl controllers easier.
It does not appear to have any direct use with our controllers.

Is there any plan to support direct program transfer to any Axiom controllers? "SneakerNet" is a bit cumbersome. The 8 character naming convention limit is frustrating as well. Thanks.

Is there any plan to support direct program transfer to any Axiom controllers? "SneakerNet" is a bit cumbersome. The 8 character naming convention limit is frustrating as well. Thanks. I agree that it's often inconvenient; admittedly, it would be great if you could run your CNC machine like a network printer and just add it to your system, but it's just not that simple. Each printer manufacturer has to provide compatible drivers for each printer for each operating system they want to support in order for that to happen - something that was originally a nightmare for developers many years ago.
The big printer companies eventually devoted a lot of time and resources to the issues and got something workable, but anyone who has tried to mess with the settings of networked printers can tell you that they can be incredibly finicky if you're trying to do anything other than the default settings - but it largely depends on the manufacturer and how much time they devoted to developing the drivers.
CNC manufacturers like Axiom are a tiny fraction of the size of these giant printer manufacturers and just don't have the resources required to develop the required drivers. So, the most reliable solution for both them and their customers is to make a stand-alone machine that can function independently from whatever operating system and/or program you're using to generate your jobs.
In short, I agree that it's annoying at times, but it also gives me a lot of freedom to choose the environment in which I'm most comfortable to do my work in - so I try to look at it from that angle.
