I just purchased the AR8 Elite and got everything set up, just had power ran to the shop i built for it and when I turn on the green switch, nothing. The green switch lights up but the control board turns on, nor does the fan on the control box. I unplugged every connection and then reconnected and still only the green switch on the control box will light up. Both stop switches have been reset. One on the controller and one on the control box. Any thoughts?

Have you tested the plug in the shop? Just because we run 220 to somewhere doesn’t mean it’s 220 at the end of the line, I would rule that out first and then call chad at axiom he can talk you through some trouble shooting that will pinpoint the issue.

Thank you I will try that. Hopefully it will be something very simple. It was just very disappointing that the machine did not fire up.

It does sound like maybe your outlet is wired incorrectly. It should be in a Nema 6-20 240V configuration. If you measure AC voltage of the outlet with multimeter probes, measure between the two blade sockets on the outlet and see that you measure 220-240VAC between the two blade sockets. Then measure between the center pin and either of the two blades and you should measure 110-120VAC on both sides.
It sounds like the outlet may have been wired up in a 110V mode where you will measure 110-120VAC between both blades, 110-120VAC between the hot blade and the ground pin and 0V (or some minor floating voltage value) between the 'neutral' blade (which is supposed to be another hot voltage line but not a neutral in a 240V Nema 6-20 configuration) and the ground pin. If you read voltages in this configuration, the outlet has been wired to a single pole breaker and will need to be re-wired to a double pole breaker in order to get the full 240VAC single phase to the machine.

Gentlemen,
Thank you for the responses. I was able to get in touch with Chad. It was actually a fuse missing that they forgot to install when checking over the machine. I was hoping for something simple and it seems as though it was. It was just very discouraging. Top of the line model with all the attachments and aspire. Was expecting it to work first time. But mist stakes happen and it is being corrected. I just hope this is not indicative of what is to come. Hoping for the best. I have meeting with a vendor this afternoon that wants to start purchasing products. After the meeting I will hopefully being firing the machine up. Thanks again for the responses. Good to know there is an active forum
Thanks, Joe

That was an easy fix. Good luck!

Well the meeting went good but Chad never called with the correct fuse that I need. Called him back several times but no answer. I cant find any resource with schematics of the control box. The manual that came with it is less than informative. I know it is a 24v fuse but that is it

How could they have tested out the machine before shipping and not know there was a fuse missing. I don't have the Elite, but had a similar problem when I got mine. I was able to fix it myself but they really can't be checking out these machines and then ship it out with missing parts. I really love my machine, but

I believe it is a 12 amp fuse i need. 2200 watts/240vx 1.25. But i'm not sure. And the two fuses that were installed had no amp stamp on it. first time i have seen that

sorry it took so long to get back to you . Found out the fuse I needed and have been trying to get the machine going all day. Keep getting error codes or it will not cut into the wood. Will run the tool path about 5 inches above wood and that's if I don't kick off the limit switch. This has been a nightmare. I have ran a ShopBot with no issues many times and this thing is something else. Right now I am regretting not going with ShopBot. Hopefully that will change. I will try and get in touch with Chad on Tuesday because of the Holiday but that is several more days lost I saw your other thread and posted my fuse info there. What software & post processor are you using? I had a lot of trouble out of the gate with my (new to me but previously owned) AR8pro. Chad sent me the root setup files for the AR8 and once I installed those back to the base settings, everything was fine again (once I learned a lot about using the correct post processor in the software).
